The Boeing Company: After years of designing and testing, the new 777X is finally ready to fly. The original announcement had aviation enthusiasts and travel junkies eagerly anticipating what the new largest and most efficient twin-engine aircraft would be like. The maiden flight has been rescheduled twice because of the weather, along with the press coverage and live stream events you have had planned. While no one can control the weather, the delay has turned the some of the eagerness into impatience. For this event, I have monitored twitter coverage of the event through the #777X and #boeing hashtags have analyzed 250 tweets throughout the second attempt at the 777X's maiden flight. By examining the Twitter activity during the live stream event on January 24, 2020, I was able to assess what people were excited about, and see an attitude shift as they became more impatient. The findings show that the majority of people were excited about this first flight and happy that Boeing was providing a live stream of the runway. Even when the event was canceled, people were disappointed but still supportive. The data shows that 83% of tweets were still excited about the maiden flight or supportive of the program. Many tweets were defending Boeing saying, "Seattle weather is unpredictable." The tweets all spoke positively about the company or were concerned about when the maiden flight would be rescheduled. For the 17% that spoke negatively about the event, it appeared that they were frustrated that it had to reschedule or that the event was live-streamed for too long before it was canceled. A major shift in attitude occurred about an hour and a half into the event. People began to worry about the weather and began getting impatient, saying the hosts of the live stream were stalling. Another shift within the 17% occurred around 12:45 pm, because people began to lose faith in the event and were upset that they waited 3 hours before canceling the event.
